Read the findings from our review of Dignity and Essential Care Inspections in 2014-2015.
We completed unannounced Dignity and Essential Care Inspections (DECI) at 46 wards or departments in NHS acute, general and community hospitals across each of the seven health board in Wales during 2014-15.
Each of the hospitals we visited were inspected against four themes:
- Quality of the patient experience
- Delivery of the Fundamentals of Care
- Quality of Staffing, Management and Leadership
- Delivery of a Safe and Effective Service.
For this review we analysed 35 of the 46 inspections undertaken in 2014-15 and some high level themes were identified.
Our findings are available to read in the report.
