HIW attends the Bevan Commission Conference
This month, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) attended the ‘Tipping Point Conference - Where next for health and care?’ organised by the Bevan Commission, Wales’ leading health and care think tank.
The conference held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, comprised of two extraordinary days packed with internationally renowned speakers who aimed to challenge, change and champion the future of health and care.
As exhibitors our representatives showcased HIW remit of work to raise awareness and network with delegates from international health and care organisations. The conference offered a platform to showcase successful innovation, foster fearless conversation, and stimulate collaborative system-wide action to improve health and wellbeing.
Rebecca Jewell, Head of Strategy, Policy and Communications at Healthcare Inspectorate Wales said:
It was a pleasure to attend such an interesting and thought-provoking event and I was struck by the positivity and innovation surrounding me at the conference.
I particularly enjoyed hearing about initiatives in place to support specific population healthcare needs, and initiatives to support healthcare staff. The conference gave a sense of what healthcare in Wales needs to achieve over the coming years and there was a common thread from speakers that to protect the future for our children and young people and generations to come, there will be some difficult decisions to be made.
There is no doubt that people are at the heart of this and the healthcare staff I met left me feeling that with this level of positivity and compassion at the helm we will be able to drive forward improvement for health and care in Wales.
