How to tell us about changes to your private dental practice and independent healthcare service

When an independent healthcare provider does not comply with the regulatory requirements and conditions of their registration we will take action.

It is a criminal offence under Section 11 of the Care Standards Act to carry on or manage an establishment without registration.

This guidance will clarify when a DBS check is required in private dentistry and independent healthcare.

When a service de-registers with us we will maintain information about them on our website for 3 years.

Independent Healthcare Providers must notify us when a particular event occurs as stated in the Independent Healthcare (Wales) Regulations 2011.

Dental Practices must notify us when a particular event occurs as stated in The Private Dentistry (Wales) Regulations 2017.

Employers must tell us about exposures judged to be ‘significant’ or ‘clinically significant’ accidental or unintended exposures.

The Controlled Drugs (Supervision of Management and Use) (Wales) Regulations 2008 came into force on 9 January 2009. These Regulations relate to arrangements that support the safe management and use of controlled drugs in Wales.
