COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Centres

Healthcare Inspectorate Wales is due to undertake assurance work to consider health board arrangements for delivering the COVID-19 vaccination strategy.

As part of our ongoing risk-based planning for 2020-21, we have included assurance and inspection of COVID-19 mass vaccination centres.  Our work will examine how patients’ health, safety and well-being are being managed in these newly-established, temporary settings, which are seeing high volumes of people since becoming operational.

Our approach to this assurance work will entail activity across four health boards, including focussed inspections at a number of mass vaccination centres in March 2021. Initially, we will be considering the arrangements at vaccination centres in the following health boards: Betsi Cadwaladr, Cardiff and Vale, Cwm Taf Morgannwg and Hywel Dda.

Our approach to this work has been designed to take account of current pressures on mass vaccination centres and staff to deliver this important programme as well as the safety of the public and our own staff.

We want the views of people who have been vaccinated at the mass vaccination centre - if you have been, please fill in our patient survey.
