National survey of maternity services extended
Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) has announced that its national survey of maternity services in Wales will close on Friday 10th January 2020.
The survey had been previously scheduled to close in December 2019, but has been extended into the New Year. This will allow more time for people who have used maternity services to share their views and experiences.
The survey was launched in September, in collaboration with Community Health Councils (CHCs), as part of HIW’s ongoing national review of maternity services.
The opinions and insight shared by filling in the short survey are very valuable to HIW and will help shape the national review. We’re seeking the views of anyone who has had any contact with maternity services, not just individuals who are pregnant or have already given birth, but also their partners and families.
Dr Kate Chamberlain, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales’s Chief Executive said:
“Our review of maternity services is a nationally important piece of work. We need the views of as many people in Wales who have experience of maternity services to help inform the review.
“We’ve already had an excellent response, with over 2,500 surveys completed so far and by extending the deadline, we’ve allowed more time for more people to share their experiences with us.”
